My Student Led Conference

This is my Student Led Conference.

Wellington

Today we went to the Reserve Bank of NZ and we had a quiz for lollipops I got 5.

After we went to the war memorial and it was so fun we went through all the life scale models of 1914 to 1918 that was so weird and we saw the tuem of the unknown worrier after  went in the memorial that looked like a church we then sang our school song

Leadership

On Wednesday it rained so I had wet day. Now we have to look after rooms 14,15,16,17,18, and 19
but there is year 6's in each class and me and Rebecca roam around and make sure everything is running nicely and if there is any big problems we look after them as well. Sometimes it isn't just like we are looking after the little kids it is we are looking after the year 6's as well. It also rained on Thursday so we looked after the kids on Thursday too.

Goals

My goals at the start of the year were to get a leadership badge and to do lots of leadership roles.



Badge:
I only need to do 2 more post and then I will have a badge.

Roles:
I am doing lots because being a house captain comes with a lot of leadership roles to do but I wont be doing wet days that much anymore.

Leadership Tech

On Tuesday we had tech I am in woodwork and I didn't think that I could finish my speaker box because I hadn't been at tech for couple weeks but now I am actually going to finish it. On the bus it was very loud but my bus Buddy's and I did the right thing on the bus.

Koru Games

Over the last three days we have been at Koru Games, which is a tournament were we verse lots of different schools in lots of different sports.

I really enjoyed playing netball because we came 8th and we won lots of games.

Thinking back to the beginning of the year, we really improved. At the start of the year we didn't know how everyone played and we didn't know how to play together as a team and now we do!!

The thing that I will remember will be coming 8th and all the cool schools that we versed. All in all it was a really fun time and that the year sevens going to Koru games next year will have a very fun time as well.

Rebecca's speach

WALT: I can create complex sentances to make my writing more interesting.

This is an example of one of my sentences that  is a complex:

sport is good for you, it gets you running around, also it helps you make new friends.

The part that makes it a complex sentence is the also becuse it makes what could have been two sentences one. 

My next step is to get into a new wriying group.

Leadership

Today we had a  house captains and heads meeting in room 24, we talked about leadership badges and how close we are to them. Then we talked about our skits and how we are going to change them to videos so that it is easy to hear and the teachers can replay them in class if they need too. Also this week there is not going to be a skit in assembly instead I have to go up and talk about focus on the speaker and listen respectfully in assembly's.

On Tuesday it rained at lunch time so Rebecca and I went to the new entrant classes to look after them while the teachers had there lunch. There were some year 5&6 students  there to help us with the kids but we didn't actually need them, some of them were ok and did some games with the kids but others sat them selves in the kids tent and wouldn't let any kids in to play in it. All in all it was an ok lunch but we did have to go tell there teacher about some of the year 6's behaviour.

On Tuesday we had Tech, I now know what I am making for my speaker, it is going to be an owl. We cut out the shapes of the kind of box you are going to have and since mine is an owl it is sort of like an oval shape but with one flat edge. Then Mr Bowers cut out the right measurements for the sides of our boxes, for my edges he used a thicker wood and had to do something to the side like shave them. Next time I am at tech hopefully I can finish the sides to my owl because I didn't get to finish the sides because Mr Bowers has to do something special for the sides. On the bus it was fine it wasn't that loud and when we got back to school we were quiet so we didn't have to practice at lunch time.

I used this to make sentences sound better and I used short sentences like face it! to make more impact in the listeners mind.

My next step is to look up more and pause more.

Yesterday morning the house captains and heads meet in room 24 for our normal 8.00 meeting we talked about skits as we are showing them in assembly then they practiced there skits. I am not in the skit for this week because I was in them last week and my job is to get all the gear ready for the skits, some of the gear I have to get ready is a desk and chairs.

On Tuesday we went to tech, this week we moved to a new tech I am now in woodwork and we are going to be making a speaker box but Mr Bowers doesn't like the term box he would rather we call it speaker container at the end of the day Mr Bowers does a riddle or 2 for lollies this week I got one of the riddles right and I got a fruit burst. On the bus on the way back it was so dusty and people would keep hitting the seats and dust would go flying everywhere but everyone was really quiet when we were walking back to class so we didn't have to practise at lunch.

This is what the task looks like. If you were doing -10 -6 first you would go across the x line which is the horizontal one and find -10 then you have found that  then go up or down till you find -6 then you click the space and you have the answer.

My next step is to get this math goal signed of then get a new math.

Today I am organising for Mr Sy to meet the new team he is coaching to do this we are meeting in his classroom and then after out to the netball court to vs the B team so he can see how we play me and Grace will be organising the positions and Jordan will be for her team.

Everyday the housecaptains take out the flags and bring them back in the girls bring them back in and when the boys or the girls forget the have to come into the other class and say that girls are better than boys or boys are better than girls the boys forgot on Tuseday so the have ro come into ourclass today and say it.

On Tuesday we had tec at Lincoln and I am in design. This week was are last week before we swop over to a different group. It was a bit hard on the bus because I had my room that I made at tec and it's not the smallest because it is to boxes together but I managed to keep it in one peice.

Goals reflection

I think that my goals are going well because I am pretty close to my merit badge and I think that I show great leadership skills and am a good role model for others.

 My next step is getting my leadership badge finished by post more things and that is the goal I need to work on.

Reading follow up

WALT: I can describe the publishing conventions to comprehend main ideas/details in factual text.


We had to go through a book and find one of each of the publishing conventions which are sub headings, capitalisation of proper nouns, glossary and quotations.

Here is an example of sub heading.

I found a sub heading that said A war of words. Then we had to write a because and mine was so you know what the following is going to be about and so you don't have to read the whole book to find out the information you need.That is what you had to do for all of the conventions.

The Solo level I think I have reached is extended abstract because I know what they all are and how to use them and why you use them.

Today we had tech at Lincoln on the bus I was respectful and did the right thing. At tech we designed are our rooms and cut out the boxes. On the way back I was good but the bus was quiet noise.

On Thursday Rebecca and I went to room 15 16 and 17 for wet day. We were there at morning tea and lunch because it was pooring down. we didn't have too many kids becuase they were at fun zone which is somthing that the year 6's run. This week was good there was no really bad children so it was good.

This is the best bit about my careers writing and the thing I was trying to work on was my ideas and adding description that is relevant.

My career goal is to be an interior designer. I want to be an interior designer  because I love designing things especially the inside of homes. to be an interior designer you need to have knowledge of the past and present design, decorating, materials, and building regulations to be able to analyse client requirements and drawings or plans. The pay for a graduate interior designer is $30.0000 to $45.0000 per year. Senior interior designers earn $55.0000 to $80.0000 per year. The job availability for an interior designer is average due to the constriction industry picking up.

My goals

I have been taking on a lot of leadership roles because I have been doing radio and we are doing book club.

Also in the last couple of weeks I have been doing a lot more leadership post then had been doing.

Today we had the bake sale and since I am a house captain I got to help we had to go and put all of the baking on tables one in the junior and two in the senior after that was all done we had places were we had to sell the goods I was in the junior area. It is hard to get them to choose what they want but we got there in the end.

19.5.15 On Tuesday we all went to technology on the bus when we were on the bus I only talked to the people next to me and I stayed seated the whole time when we got to tech I started making flags since I have finished my toy. When it was time to leave I got on the bus and on the way home I did exactly what I did on the way there.

2/7 of 56 This is how I work it out  56 dived by 7 = 8 then x it by 2 because of 2/7and that =16
1/6 of 36 36 dived by 6= 6 and there is only 1 it = 1

Today Rebecca k and I had wet day. We looked after the room 15 16 and 17 students at morning tea and lunch. At morning tea we had a problem...
one of the little kids found a whiteboard pen and started drawing on the carpet but lunch was better we didn't have as many kids as they were at kapahaka and fun zone. So we wattched pepper pig.

We have been learning how to round numbers here is an example on how to do it.

0.23 is the number. You have to round the 3 and since it is below 5 you round down so the end answer 0.2.


72.47 since the 7 is higher than 5 you round up so it would be 72.5.


99.12 since 2 is lower than 5 you round down and that would make it 99.1.

I used rhyme to make it sound good. I used rhythm to have a beat to it and I used alliteration to add more theme to it.

SOLO I think I achieved  is relational because I can't identify all of the poems language poem that they is to use in your poem

Leadership

On wet days me and Rebecca go to a little kids class where we look after the little kids and play games till lunch and or morning tea is over, but that's not all we have to keep them under control for nearly an hour. We have to keep them of the laptops and in the classroom, the hardest thing is probably the pack up because  they make a mess. Even though it sounds like a lot of trouble it is really fun!!.

Prove it writing

Crrk crrk goes the curtains as Tim, Rebecca's Dad opens them to wake her up in the morning.He then turns on the lights and blinds me.

After waiting 10 minutes for Rebecca to adjust her eyes to the new light of the morning, she gets up. She lets me stay in bed and sleep but now I want food because she is going downstairs. I follow her downstairs and get in front of her, I then go into the kitchen to let her know I want food. She follows me into the kitchen.
She says " are you hungry Luka" and puts some biscuits in my bowls.
After about 40 minutes of that stinky Daniel fumbling around they start to leave.
Kiri opens both doors to the garage.
I decide to go explore. It's so fun in here you can jump around climb up things and run around without anyone seeing you.
I hear Rebecca telling Ksana to stay inside and not to go into the garage. Then Rebecca walks into the garage and gets into the car. YES! she didn't see me I meow it means I get to stay in here.
I hear the clinks of high heels, it means Kiri is coming. Daniel is right behind her and now they are getting in the car. They start backing down the driveway. I see Kiri press the button that shuts the garage, it starts slowly shutting I start to worry, what if they don't see me?, what if I will be stuck in here all day?. I start to move trying to make them see me. The garage door, stops I don't know what to do. I stand still, one of the car doors opens a foot comes out and touches the ground. I recognize  the shoe straight away, I've never been happier to  see Rebecca before. When she got into the garage she picked me up and put me inside, the door closed behind me and I was so pleased to be inside, I never want to get shut in the garage again.

Mum tells me that I can't spend to much money , but I know exactly what I want, " Lego star wars" which is $59:99.
Right were here Auggie, where do we go?.
Over to the Lego !.
"Why does he always want Lego" Via asks Mum.
He's a boy just let him be I hear in the back round. But I'm to busy trying to find the Lego. "Found it" I say as I grab it of the shelf.
"Wow thats a bit pricey but it will be fine" says Mum.
"YES!!" I yell disturbing the other shoppers.
